A little peek into my kitchen (a corner by the stove)
Loving: The cooler weather we've been having. It's not, by any means, cold out here, but overall, it's been much more tolerable than it was in July and early to mid-August. And thank baby and standard-sized Jesus for this, cuz it was hot...and even worse, humid.
Reading: I'm not currently reading anything, but I did recently finish Bared to You, which I loved. It's along the same storyline as Fifty Shades of Grey, so if you dug that series, I'd for sure check it out! Right now, there's only the one book, but it's gonna be a trilogy (with the 2nd book coming out in October). Oh, and I downloaded The Fault in Our Stars and The Uglies, which I'm hoping to start soon.
Watching: Friday Night Lights. Yes, I'm aware that this show stopped airing over a year ago, but I am just now getting around the watching it. It's been in my Netflix instant queue for quite some time, and since we finally finished up Sons of Anarchy (at least until Season 5 begins next week), I thought I'd see what it was all about. Aaand, I'm hooked.
Working on: Changing up the home decor a bit. Nothing big (other than in Nico's room), just little things here and there (i.e. the kitchen corner pictured above). I haven't purchased much, mostly just rearranging and using things that weren't currently in use. I like to keep our space feeling fresh.

Proud of: The fact that, thus far, I've been able to stick to my protein shake fast. I've known for months that I would have to do this before my WLS, but I'd still been scurred. I mean, 2 full weeks without any solid food? Doesn't really sound like my idea of a good time. But, I'm now on day 3, and it's actually going much better than I thought. Yes, I have been a bit pretty irritable, but I've heard the first three days are the hardest, so I'm hoping it'll be smooth sailing from this point forward.
Anticipating: A couple of things, actually. One: Dan's PRK surgery this morning. I know he'll do fine, but I'll have to be there with the kids to drive him home afterwards, which should be interesting. Chasing kids around the hospital for hours while on a crutch doesn't exactly sound like my idea of a good time. Throw in the fact that I'll be taking care of him + them (solo) for the next few days, and I'm feeling a bit stressed. And two: My own surgery, which is scheduled for a week from this coming Monday. I mean, I'm sure everything will be okay, but I keep having these crazy thoughts about something going wrong. In case you didn't know, I'm a bit of a hypochondriac.
Looking forward to: Being a skinny bitch! No, but really. I'm so excited to get this surgery behind me and start dropping the lbs. Also? Walking sans crutches. I'm getting better every single day, so I have a feeling it won't be long before I'm back to normal again. Like a BOSS.

That little cupboard is so cute!!! I am trying to spice things up a bit in my own home, it's always fun to change things around every season {or every week, haha!} Good luck with your surgery and hopeful the kids will take it easy on you while your looking after your husband too :) Happy Thursday!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it? I love redecorating. And thanks!!
