Down But Not Out

As many of you know, I underwent surgery this past Monday. Whelp, I was released from the hospital on Thursday afternoon and am happy to report that everything went great! No complications, no surprise obstacles...just smooth sailing.

But as far as the recovery? Well, that's another story. After having 2 c-sections, a c-section revision and ankle surgery, I expected this to be a breeze. Man, was I wrong. This shit hurts. Like a lot. While in the hospital, I was in a morphine-induced haze and, therefore, had no clue what was going on. But once they pulled the plug on my happy juice? I became a not-so-happy camper.

The main source of my discomfort has been the drain tube that's been inserted and stitched into my side. It became so bad yesterday that we went to the E.R. to have it checked out. And I'm so thankful we did, because while there, they discovered that I had developed pneumonia. Crazy, right? So, while there's not much they can do about my "blood canteen" (as I like to call it) until it gets removed on Thursday, they were able to prescribe an antibiotic to clear up this other crap.

Because of this, my stepmom's extended her stay to help with the kids and whatnot. I'm gonna use this time to relax, get better and hopefully catch up on blogging. There's definitely been an upside to all of this, which I can't wait to share more of with you guys. But for now, I'm off to get some rest.
