Nico's First Day of Pre-K

This morning Nico started his first day of Pre-K. I'm not even sure how we got here. It feels like just yesterday we were taking him to preschool. And don't even get me started about the fact that he'll be in kindergarten next year. Seriously, where did the time go?!

He was pretty darn excited about going back to school. I think it's partially because he finally got to use the new Cars backpack his Mimi and Papa sent, but also, he just really loves it there. I've been told there will be more school work this year, whereas last year they were given assignments but weren't forced to do 'em. Like most boys his age, he'd rather play (all day, every day), but I think the added structure will be good for him. You know, then maybe it won't take ten minutes to get him to sit still for a pic.

But it sure is cute, isn't it?! His little smile kills me.

He's still at the same place he was last year (the school on base), just a different room. He doesn't have any of his friends from last year in his class, but a couple of them are in the group right next to him. Also, there is a more equal mix of boys and girls in his class this go round (last year he was one of only 2 boys).

I think it's gonna be a great year! I am beyond proud of my little man.

  1. So cute! Aubrey's preschool class is the opposite, she is one of two girls and there are four boys. Even in the playgroup I hang out with she is one of the only girls her age.

Does he go more hours now?

  2. Nope, he's going the same amount as last year. Three days a week for 3 hours each time. :)
