I've been tracking my weight loss, post surgery, for a total of 19 weeks now. This week I lost gained...
Weight Gained This Week: +1 lb.
Total Weight Loss: 27.4 lb.
I'd be lying if I didn't admit that I'm a little bummed. Yes, because we went to a birthday party and had the super bowl, I didn't eat the best yesterday (there may have been a cupcake and queso involved), but I worked haaard the rest of the week. I went the the gym 3 times and pretty much counted everything I ate. I just don't get it.
One thing I've been toying with is possibly doing a meal replacement shake once a day. I'm not sure if this would so much help me to lose weight as ensure I'm getting enough protein, but it's something I'm thinking about. Also? I'm looking into other dieting options. Yes, I had weight loss surgery, but I'm proof that the surgery alone isn't gonna do it. Heck, I'm even having trouble when dieting and exercising.
In other news, I'm down 5 inches (3 in the hips & 2 in the waist) since I last measured myself (Dec. 31st). I'm not sure if this is a lot or not since I've never really been one to keep track of measurements before now, but it's a loss, right? I think I'll make it a habit to do this once a month.
Now I'm off to the gym! I'm hoping to get out some of the aggression I have over gaining this week. Grrr!

Two things (take them with a grain of salt, just my two cents!):
ReplyDelete1. You recently returned to the gym after all this time with an injury that kept you largely inactive. I'm pretty sure you are gaining muscle (in line with your inches lost).
2. Change your weigh-in day! Why not weigh in on Fridays? I always hated weighing in after the weekend; for some reason the scale is never forgiving on Monday morning.
You know, I think you may be on to something with the weigh in day! I've had someone else suggest this, too. In fact, I think I may have to change it. :)
